PERSONAL DATA

• Veliyev Zaki Abdulla ogly was born in 1942 in Baku.
• In 1960 entered the geological-geographical faculty of Azerbaijan State University and graduated it as engineer-geologist.
• In 1970-1974 attended the correspondence post-graduate courses in Azerbaijan State University. In 1985 defended candidate thesis of geological-mineralogical sciences.
• In 2004 was awarded a rank of professor’s assistant.

EDUCATION AND ACADEMIC DEGREES OBTAINED

• In 1966 graduated from Azerbaijan State University
• “Regularities of location and terms of formation of antinomy-mercury mineralization in deposits and ore-seeps in Lowchai ore field (Lesser Caucasus)”, 1985.

COMPLETE PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

• In 1966-1978 worked in the Council of Ministers of the Azerbaijan SSR on Geology as technician-geologist and then as senior geologist in different geological groups.
• Since 1978 up to now has been working in ANAS at first in the Scientific Centre “Geophysics” as a leading engineer. Since 1984 – as a junior researcher, researcher, as a head of laboratory. Since 1993 up to now – leading researcher.
• Since 1988 up to now alongside with his work at the Institute, is a teacher in Baku State University at first in the chair “Economic minerals” and then in chair “Hydrogeology and engineering geology” on disciplines:
• “Exploration of economic minerals deposits”, “Structures of ore fields and deposits”, “Plate tectonics and ore formation”, “Recent problems of Science”, “Remote sensing”, “Aerocosmic investigation of hydrosphere” etc. Veliyev Z.A. has 75 published papers is co-author of 24 scientific-research papers, 30 scientific-publicistic papers. More than 25 diplomants defended defended thesises under his supervision; ins co-author of several methodical programs for bachelors and masters.
• Since 1996 pluralize his work in scientific-research laboratory.
